Brilliantly Delicious Flags! A Yummy Idea!

Brilliantly Delicious Flags! A Yummy Idea!

No matter at what time you are watching this post...I bet you will feel hungry! Deservedly this delicious idea highlights in the most creative way the ingredients used to reflect the country of origin. Consequently, each dish varies from the exotic like pitaya and star fruit for China to traditional favorites like Greece’s flag with feta cheese and olives.

To promote the Sydney International Food Festival - which is Australia’s largest food festival and had almost a million attendees last year and chefs from all over the world - the imaginative team re-created 17 national flags using foods common to each nation!

Enjoy!

Italy – Basil, pasta, tomatoes

Brazil - Banana leaf, limes, pineapple, passion fruit

India - Curries, rice, pappadum wafer

Japan - Tuna and rice

Greece - Kalamata Olives and feta cheese

Lebanon - Lavash, fattoush, herb spring

Vietnam - Rambutan, lychee, starfruit

Australia - Meat pie, sauce

South Korea - Kimbap and sauces

United Kingdom - Scone, cream, jams

France - Blue cheese, brie, grapes

China - Pittaya/dragon fruit and star fruit

United States - Hot dogs, ketchup, and mustard or cheese

Indonesia - Spicy curries and rice (Sambal)

Spain - Chorizo and rice

Thailand - Sweet chilli sauce, shredded coconut, blue swimmer crab

Switzerland - Charcuteries and emmental

I really loved them! Especially America's flag and Greece's made me want to have a bite! For those who haven't found their flag among them you can make suggestions! It is a brilliant idea to get to know the local products of each country!
